Series 600 "Factory Mutual Approved" Lubricated Plug Valves
The Series 600FMA (Factory Mutual Approved) Lubricated Plug Valve delivers the high level of performance you have come to expect with Homestead. Principle applications include natural gas, propane gas and butane gas.
The special Homestead "F.M. Approved" Lubricated Plug Valves have been approved by Factory Mutual Engineering and Research Corporation (F.M.) for use as "Supervising Cocks in Gas Safety Control Systems". These valves are used as part of a positive method of preventing fuel explosions in multi-burner gas fired industrial furnaces, ovens, dryers and boilers.
The Homestead "F.M. Approved Valve" is similar to a standard Homestead Lubricated Plug Valve except that it incorporates two side outlets to form a small independent passageway which is open only when the main gas passageway is completely closed. When these valves are used in multi-burner gas safety control systems, the two side outlets are connected in series with copper tubing to adjacent valves, so that when the gas passages of all valves are closed, a new continuous passageway is provided through all of the closed valves in the system.
This new passageway is connected to pressure switches to ensure complete closure of all valves before the main burner safety shutoff valve can be opened.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Model number is Fig 601FMA, sizes 1/2" through 3".
- The maximum operating pressure is 50 psi.
- Valves are suitable for natural, propane and butane gas service.
- Valves are provided with one-way handles.
- Side outlets are 1/8" npt.
